THE DETAILS BEHIND THE BREAK
Privacy policy.
Last updated:
Huddleround is operated by hatch.net, based in Australia. This policy explains how we handle information when you visit www.huddleround.com and play our games. For privacy questions or requests, email support@huddleround.com.
What information is processed
Website requests. Our hosting and security providers process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, requested URLs, referrer information, request times and response details. This delivers the site, keeps it secure, and helps diagnose errors and understand operational traffic.
Gameplay. Our servers process the round and options you select, song searches, guesses, hints and map pins you submit to return game results. Map pins are your guesses, not your device’s location. We do not request browser geolocation.
Messages you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address, any name you provide, your message and attachments. We use these to respond, investigate issues and handle your requests. Please avoid sending sensitive information unless it is needed for your enquiry.
Game progress, cookies and browser storage
Game attempts are held in the page’s memory. Refreshing or leaving the page starts a fresh attempt. The game application does not save player histories in a database or use cookies or local storage to track your progress.
Your browser may cache pages, fonts, map tiles, photos and audio to load them faster. Cloudflare may use security-related cookies when needed to protect the service. We use Google AdSense, which may use advertising cookies as described below.
When you choose to copy a result, the site writes that result to your clipboard. It does not read your existing clipboard or automatically publish your result elsewhere.
Services that help the site work
- Cloudflare hosts and delivers the website, game APIs, photos and audio, provides security and operational traffic information, and routes support emails to our inbox. It processes technical request information to provide those services. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
- Google Fonts supplies our fonts. Your browser connects to Google and sends the IP address and request information needed to retrieve them. Google states that the Fonts API does not use this information to build advertising profiles. See Google Fonts privacy information.
- OpenStreetMap Foundation supplies map tiles for Time Capsule. Requests can disclose your IP address, browser information, the site’s origin and the map tiles being viewed. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
- Email providers process correspondence when you contact our support address, so we can receive and respond to your message.
Sound Check’s prepared clips are served from our Cloudflare-hosted media domain. Playing a clip does not automatically open SoundCloud or contact Deezer. Following an external link, including “Listen on SoundCloud”, takes you to a service governed by its own privacy policy.
How information is used and shared
We use information to operate the games, return results, maintain reliability, prevent abuse, respond to messages and meet applicable legal obligations. Our service providers process information for these purposes. We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to protect people, the service or legal rights.
Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service and answering enquiries, legal obligations, or consent where required. You can withdraw consent for optional processing by contacting us or using any relevant controls we provide.
Retention, security and overseas processing
We do not keep a server-side player-history database. Technical request records and security information may be retained by our providers under their service settings and retention policies. Support correspondence is retained for as long as needed to handle the enquiry, follow-up, disputes and applicable legal obligations; it is reviewed when no longer needed.
We use HTTPS and restrict administrative access to help protect information. Our providers operate internationally, so information may be processed outside Australia, including in the United States, Europe and other locations where they operate. The location of a media bucket does not mean all request information stays in Australia.
Advertising and analytics
We use Google AdSense to show advertisements beside or below games and help keep the games free. We do not use Google Analytics or maintain our own advertising profiles.
Google and participating advertising vendors may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses and device identifiers to deliver and measure ads. Advertising cookies can personalise ads using earlier visits to this site and other websites. See how Google uses information from partner sites and Google’s privacy policy.
You can manage Google personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings. Some other advertising vendors offer choices through the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out tool. These choices do not necessarily remove all ads or all cookies.
Where required, consent and privacy choices are provided through Google’s consent message. You can also use the advertising controls linked above. This policy is not a consent request.
Your choices, requests and complaints
You can clear cached website data or manage cookies in your browser, and choose whether to follow external links or share results. Browser settings may affect how some services work.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access or correct personal information, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, obtain a portable copy, or withdraw consent. Contact support@huddleround.com to make a request or complaint. We may need reasonable information to verify your request, and will respond within the applicable legal timeframe. We do not collect extra identifying information solely to connect anonymous game attempts to a person.
You can also contact the relevant privacy regulator. In Australia, this is the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Your rights and the regulator’s jurisdiction depend on the law that applies.
Children and changes to this policy
Huddleround is designed for general audiences and workplace teams. We do not ask children to create accounts or submit personal information to play. If you believe a child has sent us personal information that should be removed, please contact us.
We will publish changes on this page and update the date above. Material changes will be explained on the site, with consent requested where required.
